Remote desktop (AnyDesk)
How to save an AnyDesk ID on a device and connect in one click from the panel.
Where to find AnyDesk settings
Section titled “Where to find AnyDesk settings”AnyDesk is tied to the RMM device. Open Devices, open the Workbench card and the remote desktop / AnyDesk settings. The feature may require a higher plan (e.g. Home Pro) — if you do not see it, check your package.
- RMM → Devices → pick an online PC.
- Open Workbench / device details.
- Go to Settings → Remote desktop (AnyDesk).
- First make sure AnyDesk is installed on the target PC.
- Without an ID saved in the panel, Connect will not work.
Save the ID and connect
Section titled “Save the ID and connect”Enter the device AnyDesk address / ID, save, then use Connect. The panel opens an anydesk: link — your PC needs the AnyDesk client installed.
- Copy the AnyDesk ID from the customer PC (or from the agent if available).
- Paste it on the device card and save.
- Click Connect and accept the session on the client side if required.
- Nothing opens? Check that AnyDesk handles anydesk: links on your PC.
- Unattended password is set in AnyDesk on the host — not your Darnet login password.
Company AnyDesk client (protocol)
Section titled “Company AnyDesk client (protocol)”An MSP with a custom my.anydesk client sets the protocol prefix in Settings. When Connect opens a help dialog instead of the client, register the protocol once on the technician PC.
- In the help dialog download the .reg file and double-click → Yes.
- After that, Connect in the workbench header is enough.
- Fallback: Download .url shortcut or copy the ID.
- A company admin sets the prefix — not every technician.
- Public
anydesk:still needs the client installed on this PC.
Linking CRM equipment
Section titled “Linking CRM equipment”CRM Equipment can hold the customer asset record. Remote desktop still comes from the RMM device — link CRM equipment to RMM first, then connect from Workbench.
- Source of truth for AnyDesk = RMM device.
- Keep customer context on CRM equipment; start the session from RMM.
- Vault details (if you need a session password) — see Equipment, licenses and vault.
