My companies (multi-company / MSP)
How to add a customer company, locations and switch work context without mixing data.
Adding a customer company
Section titled “Adding a customer company”If you manage multiple customers (MSP) or legal entities, each RMM company has its own devices and settings. Open RMM → Companies (RMM) / My companies. When creating, you can set the first admin (technician) and invite email.
- RMM → Companies / My companies → Add company.
- Fill name (timezone defaults to your IT company zone) and first admin email.
- Send an invite (recommended) or set a start password if allowed.
- After creation, select that company as the active context before installing agents.
- One company = separate devices, alerts and (usually) separate branding.
- The company card backup chip shows job count and last-24h success; click it to open that company’s backups.
- Expanding a company shows Notes → This company: backups, databases and programs shared by every computer. A single PC’s note lives on that device. Do not store passwords here.
- New companies inherit your IT company timezone and you as device caretaker; the list shows the login email so you can pick someone else.
- Company caretaker (field on the company card) is the default caretaker for the company’s devices and for new portal, Windows-bar and alert tickets when the device has no caretaker of its own. Changing it moves devices without a manually set caretaker; manual overrides stay.
- Client language on the company card sets the PDF report, mail to that company (ticket reply, scheduled report), and the Windows ticket bar. Polish by default. The same field is on the Reports page. The bar switches language after the next agent connection (usually within a minute).
- Do not install an agent into the wrong company — cleanup hurts later.
Locations and devices
Section titled “Locations and devices”Split larger companies into locations (sites). Assign devices to locations and groups — easier filtering and maintenance windows per site.
- Locations can also live in CRM and be linked via RMM ↔ CRM sync.
- Filter Endpoints by location before bulk actions (script, group, update).
- Keep location names short and stable (e.g. “HQ”, “Warehouse A”).
Switching company — golden rule
Section titled “Switching company — golden rule”Always check which company is active before running a script, reboot or install. Data must not leak between companies.
- Look at the active company switcher / name in the panel.
- If it is the wrong customer — switch context.
- Only then open Endpoints or Service Desk.
- Before bulk work: company → location → device selection.
- Integrations (e.g. Bitdefender) may be per company — check scope in company settings.
- Policy chips (OAI / BD / S3) mean who provides the key: IT company vs end customer optional/required. Paste keys in Settings. Fetch from GUS on create-company needs a NIP.
Integration keys in Settings
Section titled “Integration keys in Settings”Paste OpenAI / Bitdefender keys under Settings → Preferences only on Business+ / MSP / Enterprise (your own key). On Starter / Service / trial the platform provides Bitdefender and AI — there are no fields for your own keys. Managed-client companies also do not store keys; they point back to the IT company. Company details keep the policy: who provides the key.
- Business+/MSP: Settings → Preferences → Integrations — paste your keys.
- Lower packages: the platform operator configures the key; the panel has a connection test and protection toggles.
- On the company card pick the Small / MSP / Enterprise preset, or set the mode per service.
- Which companies have Bitdefender is set in My companies. On one PC you turn protection on or off on the Protection tab.
- Dual setup on the company card and in Settings was confusing — that is why keys moved.
- The “Integration settings” link from Protection opens Preferences (Integrations), not the empty Account tab.
